Directions to the OBSERVATORY at MOORPARK COLLEGE

Fill that picnic basket, pull that old dusty telescope out of the closet and come join VCAS at their annaul summer picnic and telescope clinic.

VCAS members and guests can enjoy their picnic dinners on the grass in front the Charles Temple observatory on the campus of Moorpark College.

Afterwards everyone is invited to set up their telescopes on the broad observing area near the observatory for a night of observation and instruction.

Got a telescope but don't know how to set it up and use it? Well you've come to the right meeting. Members will be there to answer your questions, teach you how to set up your scope and will get you started enjoying the night sky.

Don't have a telescope yet? GREAT! You'll be able to take a look through various member telescopes -- from three inch refractors to the Observatory's 16inch reflector -- to see which one suits you. And be sure to ask about the VCAS telescope loaner program available free to members. That way you can get started in astronomy at no cost at all.

The public is invited to attend and learn the enjoyment of amateur astronomy with these educational and enjoyable events.
