VCAS Public Astronomy Program -- "THE WINTER NIGHT SKY"
LOCATION: Moorpark Observatory & Amphitheatre - Moorpark College
DATE & TIME: Saturday February 18, 2012 -- 7:00pm
COST: A donation of $2 per person is suggested to defray the cost of renting the facilities
The Ventura County Astronomical Society presents: THE WINTER NIGHT SKY
- The evening will begin with a free interactive slide show lecture at the amphitheatre
- Come learn about the stars and constellations of the Winter Sky
- See some of the dozens of spectacular star clusters and nebulae visible in the winter sky
- Free star maps will be provided
- After the lecture view Jupiter, Star clusters, nebulae and other amazing objects through VCAS member telescopes
Please Note:
- This event is recommended for children eight years old and older
- DRESS WARMLY
- You need only bring a flashlight and your enthusiasm!
- In the event of inclement weather the event will be canceled
Directions:

From Simi Valley and the San Fernando Valley/Los Angeles area: Take the 118 Freeway west to the first exit in Moorpark, Collins Drive. Turn right onto Collins. Turn right at the traffic light onto Campus Road and proceed up the hill to Parking Lot D.:
- From Thousand Oaks: Take the 23/118 Freeway to the Collins Drive exit in Moorpark. Turn left onto Collins. Stay on Collins until the second traffic light, Campus Road. Turn right onto Campus Road and proceed up the hill to Parking Lot D.
- From Western Ventura County Go South on the 101 Freeway. Exit onto the 23/118 Freeway going North. Take the 118 Freeway to the Collins Drive exit in Moorpark. Turn left onto Collins. Stay on Collins until the second traffic light, Campus Road. Turn right onto Campus Road and proceed up the hill to Parking Lot D.
